Writing and Editing
I take on a number of freelance commissions, including reflective opinion pieces, book reviews and interviews. You can see a selection of these below.
In 2018, I was selected to attend the Rural Writing Institute summer school, taught by authors James Rebanks and Kathryn Aalto. I am now (very slowly...) working on my own book.
Please get in touch if you'd like to hire me to write for you.
Geographical Magazine - book reviews, including:
Underland, by Robert Macfarlane - click here
Irreplaceable: The Fight to Save our Wild Places, by Julian Hoffman - click here
English Pastoral, by James Rebanks
The Frayed Atlantic Edge, by David Gange
Resurgence & Ecologist Magazine - various articles
I used to be an Editor at Resurgence (which subsequently merged with The Ecologist). I now write occasional pieces, e.g. about how forest networks have taught me about community (see snippet below).
I'm a Contributing Editor at the Ecologist website, and as well as introducing new authors, I write occasional pieces like this interview with Raynor Winn, author of The Salt Path.
I wrote a two-part series on the poets and stories of Dartmoor called 'The Land the Speaks'.
I've also written for charity websites, blogs, and local newspapers.
